Ach, de hiphop scene is niet meer zo indrukwekkend. Hier en daar nog wat legends, maar de gemiddelde rijmpjes van nu op een saaie trap beat raken mij niet. En nu ik deze link ken, weet ik ook waarom.

Ooit een titel van een afgewezen programmavoorstel op de lokale radio om een radio-uurtje te vullen dat leeg was omdat de maker met “zomerstop” was gegaan. Super subjectief want de kern is natuurlijk mijn eigen referentie: leuke liedjes, ooit op de radio gehoord, die niet passen in de makkelijk-te-verteren-fastfoodradioformats.

Het Radioavontuur. One of the leading radioshows on AmsterdamFM. Originated in 2006 in the ‘mess’ when the station became less depending on SALTO, the local public broadcaster. It was a creation of Tommy Tudeski and me and soon we received the Best-New-Radioshow-award in 2007. In 2012, after some changes in the format and the management of the station the show ended and we continued our Radio Adventure in Ouder Amstel on JammFM.
We also had a different -now famous- co-hosts, like Eva Koreman (3FM), Jo van Egmond (WNL), and Iris Böhm (Max)

Toad The Wet Sprocket – Walk On The Ocean
In the nineties, living in a small student-apartment, I discovered VOA Europe on my cable-radio. Especially Rob McClean was my favorite DJ. VOA played a nice mix of pop,rock and R&B – and some songs that were not played on Dutch radio. Or just months later.
Toad The Wet Sprocket was a band that had a nice radio-rock sound, but never had succes in Holland. “All I want”, “Something’s always wrong” and “Walk on the ocean”. Only this last one made it into the Dutch top 40.
